ATTN: Gustav

You are not welcome here!

lash

with so much of this

i fear he could turn up like this!

Surgery is Tomorrow / Weigh - In # whatever!

So I know I've been lazy with the weigh-in's, but to be honest, nothing has changed! Basically, I lost the 8-10lbs I gained suddenly in like two weeks and I'm just the same.

If I understand things correctly, my body is working against me. A normal triglyceride level is 150 and mine is 800. So I believe my body is holding onto every morsel of fat I give it. Usually it's someone obese who has the same level as me, someone who consumes a lot of fat. But as you all know I have an incredibly low fat diet as I've been vegetarian for 14 years. And even more recently began weight watchers and I pay attention to fat/fiber now more than ever. It's a bad gene. Sort of like having a bad thyroid and you can't lose weight. With exercise and dieting I have been unable to. It's just not fair. I have 25lbs I want to lose!

In other news, I have surgery tomorrow which I'm both loathing and waiting for! Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy. I will be happy to be rid of abdominal pain that lasts 8 -14 hours. I will be nervous that my body won't work well without the gallbladder, such as vomiting bile, which seems to be common. I've just read a lot about people having major problems after this surgery. The bloating and looking pregnant just never goes away or gets worse!

But we'll just look at the bright side until we know how it affects me. I have a wonderful surgeon with a good bedside manner and lots of experience. Oh, he's Board Certified! hee.

First day of school!

No tears, not even from me.

I'll first draw attention to the adorable uniform. I added knee-highs for the full effect!

We were so excited all weekend...okay all summer...about this school. We've talked about it lots, and kept it fresh on all of our minds. Well, when the day came I just felt like I wasn't prepared! To add to this fear, as we walk up to the front door we see an 11 year old skateboard right past us! ELEVEN! Going to school with my little boo boo! This elevated my nervousness I think. We make it to the classroom for the spanish greeting. Turns out Kiran only gets about an hour of english every day and she is there until 3:15. Her teacher isn't allowed to speak english in the classroom, only spanish. They are serious about getting these kids fluent and everyone works so hard. Ms. Arocha seems like a really lovely teacher, so that certainly helps ease me. A few bawlers sort of got us off task, but I reminded Kiran that it's everyone's first day, some are shy, some are scared, some are excited. She did great though, fit right in and started building leggo's until instruction (IN SPANISH ONLY) began! ahhhh!

Some more pics of her school!

Gammy!

I just wanted to make some space on here to say that I think you are the most wonderful grandmother. Emphasis on the "grand"! We are so appreciative of you coming back down for my surgery this week, and the kids are really looking forward to it. I couldn't believe the non-stop tears Kiran had when we left the hotel. She just had you all to herself and I thought she'd be ready for us! Nope, she wanted you still and that is so sweet!

Grandma Betti I want to thank you for making the trip down. I know it wasn't easy, but we loved to see you! I had a blast!

swimming

We found the coolest pool down the street from us in the Heights. I hope we'll go regularly until we can get kiran into swimming lessons!

Already Changing!

Here is two-day old Rowan with her doting Aunt Erica. Okay, I know some babies are cute, some are not so cute....but they all eventually get there! Well little rowan is just perfect...and is VERY CUTE! I couldn't keep my hands off her.

I hope the sniffles cleared up once you guys got home. I just absolutely LOVE her!

Happy Birthday Rowan

is that jackies nose?!

Just as Amy and Lola were two days off from my EDD (estimated due date) so was Jackie! And if Ashley has hers tomorrow, that will be the third person two days early or late! Neat!

Anyways, aside from my silliness, I want to wish Jared and Jackie a HUGE CONGRATS on baby Rowan. She's just gorgeous and perfect at 6lbs 8oz and 18 inches long. This girl is so much small than we all expected. Why couldn't she get out of her breech position?! So strange. Either way, it sounds like mom and baby are doing well, and I'll be going to meet her tomorrow! I can't wait!

I love you guys and I couldn't be happier. (my evil plan all along you know - since I can't have friends and go out, neither can you!). Babysitting co-op to begin soon!

wowswers

who are these two girls?!
Gammy, this is just about 2 months before you met kiran! Take a look at how much her hair looks like olly's! How much SHE looks like olly! this is about 3 months older than he is right now!
Presenting....BABY K!

And here's Papa Jessie - he finally made the cut! (wink)

i'm rolling! i'm in tears!

ok, if you know kiran and can hear her voice as you're reading this conversation she had with daddy this morning then you might find this as hilarious as i did!

kiran: what was that song Pops used to sing to you?

dad: home on the range (then he sings it)

kiran: did it take you a long time to drive to Dallas when you were a kid?

dad: I didn't have to, I lived there with Gammy and Pops. I didn't live in Houston

kiran: you didn't know about us?

dad: you weren't alive yet honey.

kiran: you mean I was dead?!
***

Oh my goodness! I guess I need to be prepared for the next 10 years for questions like this. Oliver, just turning 1 next month still has a few years to catch up to conversation this good. And the years beyond I'm sure hold even more exciting explanations.

In other news, registration is complete, Kiran attends her "Magnet" big kid school in just a week and a half! I hate that she has to say goodbye to all of the wonderful friends and teachers at Erinn's Heart Academy, but at least several of her friends are making the same courageous next steps to their own big kid schools. We are looking forward to Meet the Teachers night on the 22nd and "welcome back coffee" night on her first day of school. I invision me late to work every day that week because I'll be just way too excited!
If anyone is curious to learn more about the school (especially if you have youngins, and i know many of my friends are finally there now or heading that way) then you should check out their site: http://www.helmsduallanguage.org/

The huge round of birthdays are behind us, but two very important one's still lay ahead. Actually I'll make that 4 very important ones.
Oliver turns 1 September 30th and Jaxson Ryder turns 1 the next day, October 1st! They are close bros so we'll be celebrating together - you'll seem some invites from us soon!

Rowan (i think this is official) will be born any day now...my guess is about 6 days (on the 18th) Congrats ahead of time Jackie!
Delilah will be born, again my guess, the next day! These girls have due dates in early September but I do know they both will not make it! Congrats to Ashley!

Monique - you're next girl.

OllyMonster!

Ok, this is just funny to me...how many pictures have we seen where Oliver is grabbing someone's hair? His fascination for the strings will never fade I'm afraid. In this picture, compliments of daddy and his camera phone, he kind of looks like he's scared kiki!
