Photobooth Make-out

The digital photobooth was about the coolest thing at the wedding! I wish we had thought of that. They were quality shots and they printed out immediately, not 10 minuntes later. With the first set you got, you used it to scrap book for the bride and groom, writing a little message either about your retarded picture or about their bright future. Our picture was so marvelous we we decided to write about their bright future! hahahahaha

I truly loved that EVERY picture we later got to look back on had at LEAST ONE make-out shot. I was almost against a kissing picture because it was so predictable but I went along with it anyways. It doesn't matter if they were in their 20's or 50's, the couples had at least one! Love it.

love birds

There were two owls sharing company just outside of our house last night. I couldn't believe I was seeing them so close. There is just something about these birds...I don't know what it is. When they looked at me I froze and felt like I should take every precaution not to disturb or scare them. I should make sure they're comfortable there in the tree for as long as they need to be.

By the way, their heads spin all the way around..>SUPER FAST! it's a bizarre thing to see!

The day after

Gammy, your comment about the day after the wedding just got me thinking. The weather was just brilliant! You talked about how you prayed and prayed for warmer weather. Well, you certainly got it! If snow was in your 10 or 15 day forecast and then you get the mid 70's for about 36 hours followed by the sharpest contrast of all: a "Feels-like" 18, which was really 30...well, then I'd say you should feel answered indeed.

We were getting warnings of Ice on the roads. Now tomorrow will be near 80. But you know what they say about houston. "If you don't like the weather, just wait 5 minutes, it'll change".....

We loved hanging around all day, wish we could have stayed the whole week.

an eye for an eye

My pequenito and "eye" look just alike! hahahahah

Here are the kids hamming it up some more!

ROCK on, Kiran!

My daughter, my nerd! I love her. I love her for reasons like this. She comes running inside to show me her name she built out of rocks. It was genious...and resourceful! She also wanted me to see her Venn Diagram. Yep. Her Venn Diagram! I think we need to buy her more toys for Christmas or something. You'd think she doesn't have any.

She is learning about the Venn Diagram in school. And if you read my earlier post about the fun we had at Math & Science night at Helms then you already know she's been really into it.

So what I love most about this is the artistic expression going on and the discipline behind it all. Me, I would have used about 8 rocks just to get the "K" out: 4 for the strait line then 2 shooting out each way. But the way Kiran's mind works is smarter. She's looking at how many rocks she has to work with(careful not to run out) and she's also keeping an artistic and inventive approach to it. She wants it to look pretty. I really dig it and I hope you do to. Just below and to the left of her name you'll see the 3 rocks: the Venn Diagram.

And, an actual Venn Diagram!

Houston Texans

So it was Houston Texans day here at Methodist Hospital. We have these pretty often, and I actually missed the Dynamo day b/c i was out of town or something. And you have already seen my embarrasing Astros Day photo! Anyways, today I was called on to participate in musical chairs - I was very excited I got picked!!!! You can see my action shot below that carolina took with her blackberry! Then the other pic where were all just barely getting situated.

Oh, by the way, that blond boy with the surprised look on his face ended up in an all out battle with one of those greedy women. I was actually saving chairs for those kids! The mascot was playing too and when I got out it was because I was trying to help the two little boys and then the mascot decided it was funny to pick up a chair and hold it under his butt as we circled around. It was actually pretty funny. Well the blond kid got hurt and ended up crying at the very end, it was pretty sad.

I got a goody sack for participating. All sorts of things on top of what I caught when they were throwing them out.

The texans I remember participating were Chris Brown, Chester Pitts, ....dang, I already forget! oh well, I'm not a football fan much.

More pics.....

I'm catching up here!

It was so beautiful

I wish I had picture after picture on my camera of the wedding, but you'll have to wait until I'm given pics from family that the photog gave. For now, just some random shots throughout the weekend. No doubt tons of the kiddo's!

The wedding was absolutely amazing. The stage sounded more like a funeral with all the crying, but I later found out you couldn't hear us even on the first row. Thank goodness! But taking one look at me you could see how caught up I was in the moment. I love weddings. Even before my own, there was just something about the magic of that day. Once I experienced that for myself I think it's safe to say my emotions somewhat explode when I attend a wedding now. I choked up watching my Father-in-Law and new Brother fight back tears and swallow big lumps in their throats the entire service. Wow, that was tough.

Cheers to the happy couple!

WEIGH-IN #22 the finale

I technically reached goal folks. What I do from here on out, is unknown. I have bird legs again, no butt, still a little thick in the middle....just some areas to work on. But I'm sure no matter how many daily points I get to add on in my new "WW MAINTENANCE" it will not add any fat to my poor little legs.

I had to do my weigh-in at my Mother-n-law's today. She says her scale is off, which from what I recall it's always been accurate or close to mine. I've only had to use it once for you.

I was 115, so I decided to go with 116. I'm clothed and have eaten. I figured that was fair. I logged it in WW and aparently I need to see a doctor again! hahaha.

So "goal" here we are! I'm really proud! I've learned a LOT, and have had fantastic support from Evan this entire time. Unbelievable support. He lost some sympahty inches I think! I also cooked my low fat meals for him. :-P

So no more weigh-in's on here, so I hope it's not a ghost town while work is too busy for posting pics. I'm going to do my best to get on and tell stories about those crazy kids.

It's time to start the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in the same sentence....

The words WEDDING, JACLYN, and TOMORROW can now all be found in the same sentence! Doesn't matter how you word it, isn't that just freaking crazy?! I feel like Jaclyn had a longer engagement than me but the truth is it was like 1/3 of what I had. Maybe it's just more details, bigger wedding, more planning! Wowswers!

Tomorrow is the Bachlorette party and Oliver and I will be flying up there! This is also a big day for the big boy because he will be on his first flight. I hope his ears are okay! If not, he'll be spouting out all kinds of explitives in spanish, I won't understand any of this. :-)

Can't wait!

P.S.....remember how I was nervous about the size 8? well it fit, then it was too big, got the 6...and even it's roomy! Go me!...but i refused to get a 4! There isn't enough time, plus target will hate me for returning FOUR dresses now. How rediculous. (good for me, a pain for them)

the oddest gift

I spotted the UPS truck from my kitchen window and quickly ran to the front door. He was gone before I even had the package in my hand, and he even had time to knock. It is, after all, the busiest month of the year for them.

I was excited when I saw my name on the package but noticed it was from amazon.com so I figured I ordered something online, probably for the wedding, that I had forgotten. But what was in that package was not at all an accessory for my hair, or pretty chain for my neck, or any such thing! It was the most perplexing sight. Was this a gift? was it a joke? "Evan did you buy this? It says Amazon?".... Total confusion clouded us! Scissors! Just so happens they were the same type of scissors that went missing from our kitchen weeks back. I thought, who on earth knew they were gone? Maybe someone knew and wanted to replace them. I hate to publicly admit this...but scissors are missing in your house for weeks and you have a 14 month old running around, and worse, a 4 year old...... I had some concern there.

We was just so bewildered, though. I had to think harder on this. Thinking out loud I told Evan I did at least have an Amazon.com account, which is the same as a Target.com account, but my last purchase or return were the many sizes of bridesmaid dresses.

"That's It!" he exlaimed! "You must have left the scissors in the box when you returned the larger dress, and now they're returning the scissors back to us.

I had a little guilt and denial at first, but we both just laughed it off and gave a big welcoming (distant) hug to the scissors. We'll never let them out of our sight again.

WEIGH-IN #21

Aside from looking 6 months pregnant today, I have actually lost again. But then I do bounce up to 121 quite easily. My birth control, aka MIRENA MONSTER, which is getting evicted Monday, is causing weight gain and severe bloating. I'm having to work twice as hard now at this and there isn't much I can do for the bloating. Did I mention the discomfort of the bloating? It's not just the appearance of looking like I'm second trimester here!

Anyhow: 118.4! ....or was it lying? I also got a 118.8 and 119.2.

My scale is tempermental and I step on it several times until I get the same reading more than once.

a trip to the dentist for a lolipop

In kiran's mind of course, her objective was to get candy. She's 4.5 and hasn't seen a dentist yet. I was started to feel like quite the unfit parent you might say. She finally complained of her first toothache last week so we had to make the call. Turns out she's got 20 gorgeous teeth an only 1 little spot in the back to watch out for. We'll be rosting (aka flossing) and brushing with some mouthwash back there and we should be just fine!
