WaterMountain

This chic has gotten brave! Kiran's all about jumping off the diving board and sliding. What a difference from last summer!

1st Day, 1st Grace, 1st Preserved tooth!!

Greetings to you all, I haven't cared for you like I should have. It's been a long time since I've updated on my "kiddie winks".

They both started school today only Oliver didn't get a summer at home like Kiran. He continued on at the Montessori but starts back with the typical semester-routines and classes and the uniforms are back in full force.

Kiran looked like a total doll in her new clothes. It was clear that she wanted to wear her sweater/vest this morning with shorts and knee-highs! I was also told to where my sweater vest combo to work...so we sort of looked the same this morning. (only there are no pics of me because you're not allowed to see this on a Monday Morning!)

Kiran, bless her heart, finally got to 15 bells again after months. Our over-the-top calming method seems to be working really well for her fits and outbursts. If we don't get worked up then she doesn't. My only worry here is that we're loosing oppertunity to get in there in teach lessons when she's acting up, but i only see this as temporary until we really get her behavior to where it would be for the average 6-year old.

Yesterday, as a "mini-field trip" reward, she and I had girls day again. We went to the theater to see "The Return of Nanny McPhee" and then had spa day. I only cried 3 times and she had to ask me what about the movie made me sad. So I think part of it was confusing to her. She doesn't know a whole lot about War and how families sometimes have to go off and risk their lives and all that....
Afterwards I really tried to pamper her so that she'd feel pretty on her first day of school!! We did a bath with a hefty a stocky amount of Vanilla & Camomille Baby Powder. When you pour it into running water, the powder returns to the air and sort of cycles through a few times and makes it look like thick steam from a hot tub or something. It was neat and it smelled super great! Then we did Banana Mask Facials and manicures. Shortly before her bath, she lost her bottom front tooth and this time she didn't swallow it! This was her 3rd baby tooth to go and she hasn't had the chance to hold onto one yet! So I tucked her in for the night with her toothfairy pillow safely besider her and of course forgot all about it! She was a little anxious this morning to see if the tooth fairy left her anything and i just explained, a little disappointed in myself, that it can sometimes take up to a week and that you just keep trying! I passed out with the TV on, a book nearby, and my phone in my hand I think. I was just exhausted and I'm still feeling sick. Tonight, i'll try not to forget to set a quiet alarm so I can "make sure" that tooth fairy shows up!

one was a little cranky on the first day at first......
