Moving to FRANCE!

So maybe we aren't really moving to France, but we should! Oliver would fit right in! Just located these adorable pictures of Oliver modeling his gift from my boss. She tells me the woman knits these precious sets and I'm so thankful for it! It's bee nice to have a hat that actually fits through the whole winter!

BaRACK the vote!

Little Oliver made the local news last night, and made his way into close to 100 camera's and phones!
Obama fans were infatuated with the bib mimicking Baracks'CHANGE campagne which read, "CHANGE ME, OBAMA!"
Staff heard echo's of the baby with the bib and plenty came to find us for photographs. And eventually Fox 26 News did as well!

I was proud of both kids, as we arrived at the front door around 4, and he arrived on stage at about 8:30.

We got home late....this left little time for "dreaming of the future", but we all felt inspired enough anyways.

Still a work in progress

We are inching towards a final product here. I had so much fun over the weekend moving Olivers' furniture into the nursery. I can't wait to fuss over where we hang the cloth froggies, and I certainly can't wait to shop for a rug that we'll spend endless hours reading stories on!



Kiran did acknowledge the extra space in her room, but quickly went to the nursery to inspect what of hers was "given to the baby". Of course most of it was Olivers' already but she has assumed they were hers because he hasn't played with them yet. But even after things like that get settled, the 3 year old just can't part with an old teething ring!

I'll work on selflessness in the days to come, and I think Kiran is learning to accept a baby brother in her life as a final partnership because on the way to school this morning, she mouthed from the back seat, "Mommy, I think we'll keep this baby".

Where does she find these quotes?!

A quick update on the kiddo's:

Oliver had his 4 month check up this week, 2 weeks late but worth the wait. Nothing but good news to share. He's exteremely healthy and smiled ear-to-ear for the doctor as well as the nurse that gave him his 3 shots. Gotta keep my pup vaccinated!

He is 26" long now, which puts him in the 70% percentile for height. Kiran was usually 110% percentile so I'm wondering if she'll always be taller. I don't think it says a whole lot right now.

I'm so happy to finally brag he's getting thuder thighs, but he's only weighing 15lbs, 50% percentile. He's perfect there, though...and I can still hold him in one had if I need to. (what mom doesn't need to?) : )

And towards the end, i hear what I'm used to hearing the most: "He's so alert, you're doing a great job talking to him". Yeah yeah!

Meanwhile, my 30-pounder, Kiran, is doing so well at school. From the very first day of preschool she has received GREEN, which is coded for excellent conduct. She's fitting in perfect. This morning, as I dropped her off for her second Valentines party, I watch quietly at the door as she gets in her "Criss-Cross-Applesauce" circle and follows along with the chants, the claps, and the knee slaps. She is growing up big time these days.

I hate to break it to you all, but she can basically write her name! She can write nearly the whole alphabet. I know I'm her mom, but i really think you can determine all the letters. And, no lie, she is quicker at her homework than me! Some of it I thought would be a little tricky - or at least take some looking at, and she practically does it with her eyes closed in half a second. I'm so proud.

from demolition to divine!

Once upon a time, some expecting newlyweds dreamt longingly of having a nursery for their newborn son. There was only one problem, they had a two bedroom home and the first youngling had a room all to herself with far too many toys to share space with the infant.
They were kicked out of their home. The next day (hardly), after they very thankfully received a gift from their lovely grandmother, they began demolition on the converted garage room. They were to sleep there so there was enough room for the children to play and explore, but it was in no shape for forty winks yet. Not even for two!



7 long months later, the young happy couple finally started closing in on the finish line, with only finishing touches to be made!


Some tasteful trim, pretty paintings,bold baseboards, and eye-catching curtains then the wedded couple will finally be able to deliver a final product for you to gaze upon! All done with their own two hands. Four hands I guess, well really 8 hands if you count Jen and Ray!

And most importantly, little oliver jude will be able to rest in his beautiful crib.

100th Post!

I gave birth to this just 4 months and 5 days ago? REALLY?!
His hair is finally starting to grow a little, but we're still having to do a little old man comb-over and probably will for some time.

I am very happy to report (gammy, you heard it first!) that little Olly went 11 hours w/out a bottle last Friday! He had lunch at daycare at 3:30 and then went to bed at 6, not waking until 2:30 to eat. IMPRESSIVE! He's trying to be like his big sis!
