I'm the bunny!

Not really, but I wish I was! How handsome are the two men in my life?

youthful euphoria

Looking at these pictures are the only thing I need to remember exactly what it felt like to totally rupture with pleasure on a swing set. You wind up your seat until the chains are as twisted as they'll go and you quickly yank your feet up to your stomach and you begin twisting so fast that you can barely hold on. You have to curl youreself into a ball to keep from flying out of the swing and you feel like you're going 90 miles an hour, then slowly move to a pleasant and even spin.
That look in her eye and smile on her mouth is the same one I had, and probably the same one you had too. It's the sweetest thing to look at! Ah, those simple pleasures. I feel like a failure of a parent if I don't see these often enough.

arboretum pics

We must have seen 50 turtles, 5 snakes, 2 salamanders, a lizard, crawfish (legs only unfortunately!), dragonflies all around, and a few other things I can't remember. Kiran is a good spotter for all of this and it's not just because she's a few feet from the ground! Please let us NEVER run into one of these Giant Asian Salamanders though!

**Stop for just a second and look at this. His little arm on Dally's leg. Melt your heart out.

**And this is what olly calls a PINECORN. We've not had corn on the cob in a few weeks but I think he's still drawing a comparison. I think it was pretty smart too, but I could be biased!

Bob the Builder needs to pay us a visit!

When I first bought my house nearly 5 years ago, one of the first things I wanted to do was build onto it. Funny, when there was only 2 of us there and I thought I needed more room then! I finally settled on something far less expensive, knowing I still couldn't even pull that off. We have a back deck, which no longer has a roof thanks to Ike. I really want to build up and have a second story deck/patio. I realize we have a 1-story house but the view would be spectacular!
This is NOT my house or yard, but sort of what the layout is with the deck we currently have. ---minus the stairs into the yard---

So it would be fun to just re-do the roof, throw in some stairs off to the side and all the necessary handrails, etc, to get a nice cozy balcony.
If I were rich, I'd do something fun like this built in gazebo:

After our most recent trip to the arboretum I got another idea for the backyard for the kids! We have the perfect tree in the middle of our yard to build something like this around. Rather than just have the tree support the platform, we'd save our tree and let it come fully through it and the kids just run around it. They had their stairs made out of tree trunks which was really cute too! I LOVES it! And I loves volunteers! :-)

I'm still borrowing!

I'm still waiting to get my pictures uploaded but Gammy has supplied me with pictures from our trip to the Dallas Arboretum. I'll actually be posting some pictures from our own trip to the Houston Arboretum from yesterday pretty soon. THANKS GAM GAM!

Friends that play together stay together

Photos are courtesy of Raygan because once again I forgot my camera. They're absolutely fabulous and that's another reason I wanted to blog them. The picture of Jaxson on Easter will bring you to tears! So will Olly Wolly Lolly in Beverly's hat. I have some others on my camera, or evans phone, that will be posted too - adorbs!

LOOK HOW MUCH HER HAIR HAS GROWN! THE HORSE SHAMPOO IS WORKING AND NEITHER OF US ARE NEIGHING UNLESS WE'RE DOING IT IN OUR SLEEP.

I'm sorry, but what do you think about this "get this crazy woman away from me!!!!" face? I'm totally in love with it!

So many Easter and weekend pics to come

When I'm home and free from the laundry I promise to update some pics and share some news on everyone. Including the latest report card, progress at gymnastics, oliver's latest conversations between his monster trucks, the relationship of Penelope and Saturday, and anything else that comes to mind...like what we might want for dinner!
